Sacramento Stand Down has been a foundation of support for homeless veterans in our community for nearly three decades. Their distinct approach involves bringing together various state and federal agencies, along with other non-profit service providers, to create a strong network of assistance. This cooperative effort helps veterans, including Guard and Reserve members who are at risk of homelessness, address the complex challenges they face. By fostering a safe and understanding environment, Sacramento Stand Down enables veterans to connect with others who share similar experiences, cultivating hope and providing a path to rebuilding their lives.

The guiding principle at Sacramento Stand Down is providing a “hand up, not a hand out.” This means they focus on equipping veterans with the tools and connections they need to become self-sufficient. For those looking to contribute, Sacramento Stand Down accepts donations, which directly fund their essential services and programs. Their work ensures that veterans in need receive not only immediate help but also the long-term support required to transition back into stable and fulfilling lives within our community.
