East Sacramento, California, is gearing up for a Thanksgiving to remember in 2024. Whether you’re looking to dine out, grab a meal to-go, or start your holiday with a charitable run, this guide has you covered. Let’s dive into the festive offerings that will make your Turkey Day special.
Dine Out in Style
The Firehouse Restaurant

This Thanksgiving, they’re pulling out all the stops with a three-course menu to make your taste buds dance happily. From roasted turkey with a fancy merlot-cranberry relish to pumpkin and ricotta ravioli, there’s something for everyone. Even the kids get their special menu, so you won’t have to deal with any “I don’t like this” tantrums.
Grange Bar & Restaurant

Work Off Those Calories
2024 Run to Feed the Hungry
Date: November 28, 2024
Location: Starts on J Street, just west of Sacramento State University
Feeling guilty about all that food you’re about to inhale? Why not start your Thanksgiving with a good deed (and a good sweat)? The Run to Feed the Hungry is a Sacramento tradition at this point. It’s the largest Thanksgiving Day fun run in the country and right in our backyard.
Choose between a 5K or 10K, and run (or walk, we won’t judge) through the beautiful tree-lined streets of East Sacramento. The best part? All the money raised goes to the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services. So you can stuff your face later, knowing you’ve helped feed others, too.
The race kicks off bright and early, with the 10K starting at 8:15 AM and the 5K starting at 9:00 AM. Don’t worry if you’re not a morning person—for the less competitive folks, there are start times until 9:40 AM.
There you have it – a Thanksgiving guide to make your East Sacramento holiday one for the books. Whether you’re dining out, taking home a feast, or running for a cause, you’re sure to create some great memories (and food babies). Happy Thanksgiving, Sacramento1
