Looking for a place to feast this Thanksgiving without the hassle of cooking and cleaning? The Firehouse Restaurant in Old Sacramento has got you covered with their mouthwatering Thanksgiving menu. This culinary hotspot is ready to serve a holiday meal that’ll make you thankful you didn’t have to spend hours in the kitchen.

A Thanksgiving Tradition in Old Sacramento

While not exactly in East Sacramento, The Firehouse Restaurant is just a short 10-minute drive away in the heart of Old Sacramento. This local favorite has been dishing out delicious meals for nearly 60 years, and their Thanksgiving spread is no exception. Mark your calendars for November 28, 2024, because that’s when the magic happens from 1 pm to 8 pm.

A Three-Course Feast Fit for Royalty

The Firehouse isn’t messing around with their Thanksgiving menu. They’re pulling out all the stops with a three-course extravaganza that’ll have you loosening your belt before dessert even arrives.

First Course: Salad With a Twist

Forget your boring old garden salad. The Firehouse kicks things off with a Bloomsdale Spinach Salad that’s anything but ordinary. Picture this: tender spinach leaves mingling with sweet butternut squash, juicy heirloom cherry tomatoes, and tangy feta cheese. And let’s not forget the basil vinaigrette that ties it all together. It’s like fall decided to throw a party in your mouth.

Second Course: Choose Your Own Adventure

Here’s where things get interesting. The Firehouse gives you options, so why settle for just turkey when you can have… well, turkey and more?

  • Roasted Free-Range Turkey: This isn’t your grandma’s dry turkey. We’re talking about a juicy, perfectly roasted bird with all the fixings. Cornbread dressing? Check. Merlot-cranberry relish? You bet. Mashed potatoes, French beans, and giblet gravy? It’s all there, baby.
  • Pan-Roasted Alaskan Halibut: This dish is a showstopper for seafood lovers. The halibut comes perched atop a carrot-butternut squash-caramelized onion pavé (fancy talk for a layered veggie cake) with parsnip and cauliflower purée. And because butter improves everything, it’s finished with a herbed beurre monté.
  • Filet Mignon: If you’re feeling extra fancy, go for the filet. It’s served with mashed potatoes (because it’s not Thanksgiving without them) and honey-infused brown butter heirloom carrots. Crispy fried shallots, and a black currant demi-glaze take this dish from great to “Can I lick the plate?”
  • Roasted garlic Carbonara: Who says pasta can’t be festive? This carbonara is loaded with pancetta lardons, crispy sage, and candied walnut gremolata, which will make you forget all about turkey.

Third Course: Sweet Endings

When you think you can’t possibly eat another bite, along comes dessert. And boy, do you have choices:

  • Pumpkin-Praline Upside-Down Cake: It’s like pumpkin pie decided to get dressed up for the occasion. Topped with maple whipped cream, bourbon glaze, and a touch of gold leaf, it’s Thanksgiving dessert with a tiara.
  • Apple Pie: A classic done right, served with caramel sauce, whipped cream, and a dusting of cinnamon that’ll remind you of cozy fall nights.
  • Vegan Blueberry Tart: This tart is for the plant-based crowd or anyone who loves a good fruit dessert. It’s topped with blueberry jam, coconut flakes, and coconut whipped cream.

Kid-Friendly Feasting

Got little ones in tow? The Firehouse hasn’t forgotten about them. Their Young Patrons Menu (for the 12 and under crowd) offers kid-sized versions of grown-up meals, including roast turkey and filet mignon. And for dessert? A s’mores cupcake that’ll have the kiddos grinning from ear to ear.

The Fine Print

Before you rush to make reservations, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • The adult menu costs $89.95 per person, while the kids’ menu costs $34.95.
  • Beverages, tax, and gratuity aren’t included in the price.
  • If you’re bringing your own wine, there’s a $35 corkage fee per 750 ml bottle, with a max of two bottles allowed.
  • For large groups (8 or more), they ask for one ticket and tack on a minimum 20% service charge.

A Thanksgiving to Remember

The Firehouse Restaurant’s Thanksgiving Dining experience is more than just a meal – it’s a chance to create new holiday memories without the stress of cooking and cleaning. And here’s a little tidbit: this fabulous feast is included in our Thanksgiving Guide 2024, so you know it’s a can’t-miss event.

So, if you’re in or around East Sacramento this Thanksgiving and want to trade in your apron for a napkin, head over to The Firehouse Restaurant in Old Sacramento. Just remember to bring your appetite and leave room for seconds… and thirds.
